Swimin In the Rain, Just Swimin In The Rain...........

Best Friends

When Boston was 2 he met Tate Bassett. They were best friends for 2 years in Utah until the Bassett's moved to Pennsylvania and we moved to Texas. Three years later we got a call from the Bassett's saying that their best friends the Stacey's are moving to Dallas. Well, low and behold, they moved into our ward in Flower Mound. They have a son that is Boston's age named Justin. Justin and Tate were best friends in Pennsylvania. (Are you getting this?) So now Boston and Justin are friends and at one time were both best friends with Tate. We received the exciting news that TATE was coming to Flower Mound to visit his two best friends. It was great to see him again and get all three boys together. It was like Tate had never gone anywhere. They had a great time together.

Big Brother, Little Brother

Boston is Sarger's hero. They are so much alike. They like the same things and act much the same. They are far enough apart in age that they don't fight much. Don't get me wrong though. Plenty of teasing happens. The good news is Sarger is the toughest kid in our family. He can play with Boston and do some major rough housing without tears. Sarger was born happy and continues to be happy and content in general. They have a blast together, but at times get sent out of Mommy's room because they are having "too much fun" for Mommy to handle. I love that they have each other.

EFY 2010

Here we are waiting in line to register and finally getting to register. Such an exciting time. I hope they have an amazing time this week!

Sam Houston Homestead

EFY was at Sam Houston State University. The original Sam Houston homestead was right next to the girls dorms that they would be staying. We had a few minutes to wander around the grounds. It was such a beautiful place. I love stuff like that.

EFY! EFY! EFY!

I was excited to be able to take Quincey and three friends to EFY on Monday morning in Huntsville, Texas. We left at 6:30 for a three hour drive to Sam Houston State University. It was a blast being with the girls. All wonderful and excited for a great week ahead. I couldn't feel happier about them getting to go.

Day Camp Fun!

SNAKES!

One of my favorite parts of day camp! The boys really love it too.

Cub Scout Day Camp!

This is my 4th year attending cub scout day camp with my boys. It was a great time once again this year. The theme was "wild wild west!". Boston had fun with his friends and I enjoyed going with him. He is a great kid.

Father's Day!

I love Father's Day! It is fun to spoil the Father of our home and make his day special. It all started with breakfast in bed. (Notice the time on the clock. I had to get up at 5:30 to do this. He has early morning meetings.) I also made him a special turkey and sweet potato lunch with rassleberry pie and ice cream for dessert. He got new sunglasses and I replaced his watch battery for him. The kids decided that they wanted to give Daddy a "Spa Day", so they dimmed the lights and pounded on his back for a while. He liked it. But the granddaddy of all presents was that I got the drive way resurfaced for him while he was gone on the 50 mile hike. It turned out beautiful and was quite a surprise for him when he got home. He said it was his BEST Fathers Day yet! (Hope every year gets better and better. You deserve it Love.)

Tiny

Piper has had a very fun summer so far. It all started with dance camp and then art camp and then I took her and Sarger to get their pictures taken. That mixed in with lots and lots of swimming. She was so cute to watch dance at her dance camp. She is naturally a graceful person.

HIGH ADVENTURE!

Daddy was able to take the 14-15 year old scouts on the High Adventure this year. They went to Arkansas for a 50 mile backpacking trip! They did not bring anything at all for the boys. They had to carry everything they needed and do all the cooking for themselves. It was a HUGE deal. The trip turned out to be a wonderful experience and a great accomplishment for these boys. They all made the 50 mile trip. The three leaders that went were great and had a wonderful time with the boys. I am so proud of all of them for doing such a hard and thing having fun while doing it. WOW.

Overall She's AWESOME!

Quincey has decided that wearing cut off overalls to camp is WHERE IT'S AT! She has 3 pairs that she cut off, hemmed, and decorated. On this pair she made stars out of paper and then laid them on the overalls and sprayed bleach over them. Leaving stars on the pants. They turned out cute. She also did one with splattered white paint and one with sewed on patches. They all were cute and were all the rage at camp this year. Rock on Q.

Boys Enrichment Night!

The men had an "Enrichment" activity this week. As they announced the activity at church, they called it something like "Fun With Fire." They were going to have contests making fires without matches, make things with a forge (whatever that is) dutch oven cooking and have an ax woodcutting contest. Then they said that it will be held at the Barron's home. This was news to me. With a name like fun with fire, I can see why Daddy "forgot" to tell me it would be at our house. The men all laughed their guts out at my surprise. It was funny. I am happy to say that there was no damage done (my kids kept all their limbs) and the guys had a GREAT time. It was fun to see how excited they were. Cute little fellas.
