A boring summer day turned fun!
We were having a boring summer day. It was overcast and gloomy. As it started to rain, Briggs simply walked out into the downpour and we all were watching him. Soon all of the children joined in and it turned into quite a party! The kids had so much fun running and dancing in the rain, it turned out to be a great time!
AMERICAN IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quincey and I were so lucky to get to go to the American Idol concert in Dallas. We got to see David Archeleta, Brooke White and the rest. We partied together and had a total blast! We got there early enough to go out to eat. It was a super fun Mother/Daughter night out. Quincey has already committed me to the concert next year. I want to bring Piper if she gets into American Idol. It was tons of fun!
A Night With Barnum and Bailey!
Boston and I were lucky enough to get to go on a mother/son date together to the circus! We went with our good friends, the Robbins. We got to sit in a suite and they provided free food. We had a blast pigging out on junk food and being entertained by the circus. It was a great night for the two of us.
King Henry is born!
We have been blessed with a new baby goat! Little Henry has joined our family and he is so cute. He is a great mixture of Stello and Abigail. We were hoping for a girl (3 for 3 boys!). The bonus of a girl would be that they can have more babies, they do not STINK like the boys and they are a little bit sweeter. I think our next plan is to buy two more girls and then start selling the ones that are not our favorites. It's fun being in the goat business. They are fun pets. (Better then dogs for me.)
A second chance!
I have some good news to report to those animal lovers out there! Our Mallards are permitted to LIVE! Daddy was able to chicken wire the pool area so that they can no longer swim in the pool. I am very happy about this. They are starting to swim in the pond and have given up on the pool area. I have some other neat news about them. TWO of the ducks are males! They both are growing green feathers on their heads with a white stripe around there necks. I will take pictures soon and post them. They look gorgeous. We are even thinking about naming them. (That means they are here to stay.)
Daddy to the rescue
While I was at a church meeting my family found an injured hawk in our yard. They quickly got organized to save this bird. They fed it, took it out of the hot sun and laid it on a soft blanket inside of one of our cages. Quincey and Daddy gave him water with my baster (some how my kitchen tools end up in these situations) ( I would be evil if I said they could not use them, right?) Anyway, it was sweet how they nursed it back. The next morning it was standing up in the cage and looking like it might survive! We called animal services and they came to pick it up and take it to a hawk specialist. It was fun having a hawk to see up close. It was a beautiful bird.
