We took the scouts fishing

For a cub activity we took the boys to a nearby park and taught them how to fish! They used worms for bait and we taught them how to identify different fresh water fish. The boys had a blast casting their fishing poles. Even though no one caught anything, we learned a lot and had fun.

Flower Mound High

We invited the whole ward to party with us at Flower Mound High School to watch the fire works. We brought chairs, bean bags, and blankets. Lots of families showed up and we threw the football, the Frisbee and ate pizza and water melon until the fire works started. It was super fun. I love this holiday.

After the parade festivites!

The Deering family was so sweet to host a BBQ party at their house after the parade. We brought peanut butter cookies and brownies. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and chips. They organized and tug-o-war, egg toss, three legged race and a water melon race. The water melon race was cute. I had never seen one before. They had four water melons and each child would have a water melon, they would jump into the pool and on "GO!" they would push the floating melon with their heads (they can not touch it with their hands) to the other side of the pool and back. The first one done wins! It was a fun one. I loved visiting with the neighbors and seeing all the kids. Good times!

Red Oak Lane Fourth of July

The neighborhood fourth of July parade was another success this year! The family was all decked in red, white and blue with our bikes also. We brought Blue and Star in the parade and had a total blast.

The Girls of Summer!

Quincey has a great group of friends. There are 16 beehives right now. They are lucky to have so many girls! One of the Moms from the ward organized a summer group called "The girls of summer". We each take a turn hosting an activity at our house to provide activities for the girls to be together and to become close friends. It has been a wonderful idea. We hosted a swimming party with watermelon, brownies, chips, salsa and Koolaid. The girls had so much fun together. I hope they can all feel a part of the group and enjoy their young women years.

Gladys?

In the spring we got a new batch of baby chicks and in the group was a cute little black silky. After recently going to a Gladys Knight concert, I decided to name this baby chick after her. (I don't know if she would feel honored or not.) Gladys Knight is really quite an awesome lady. She is a wonderful missionary and I really look up to her a lot. The kids loved to hold the baby chick and she was sweet. Well, it got older and one day little Gladys began crowing. HHHHMMMMM Gladys seems to be, well, a boy. If you know anything about roosters, you will know that they are BRATS. Gladys ( now Gladiator) has started being mean to the kids and is now on my hit list. One more incident and he is up for FREE on Craig's list!

Rock on Piper!

This picture truly brings me joy! I snapped a shot of Piper while she was groovin to the radio. What can I say, but I love it!

Mary and Laura

Mary and Laura were my best friends growing up. We lived in the same neighborhood, each on a different street. I feel like I owe so much to these two girls. They were good examples to me when I needed it. Between them and my sisters, I always had a friend to do something with. I think of the many sleepovers, double dates, parties, phone conversations, church activities, times joking around, talking about boys, TPing boys houses and much more. I feel so blessed to have them both in my life. Super fond memories.

Little Nel Nel

I like these pictures of Nelly because one, she is very cute and two I remember the day I taught her to ride her bike. I was so excited for her to learn how. I just hope that I didn't torcher her in the process. Nelly has always been a person that I can look up to. She is humble and someone who loves others unconditionally. I don't think she knows how special she is.

My First Day Of Kinder Garden

This is me before I headed off to Kinder garden. I love how thin my hair is. I DO remember that I thought this was a MOST gorgeous dress and it was the only way I could make my first showing at school. I went to Ira Murphy Elementary for K and Heritage for 1-8th grade. Good memories.

Toothpick Woman Running Free

I had to scan this picture of me in High School. I am excited to be at the beach and the skinny bod cracks me up.

Our Reception

The Best Day of My Life

I spent some time scanning some of our wedding pictures and I am excited about finally doing it. Our wedding day was truly a great day. It DID start out with, well, a blizzard, but I barely noticed that. I was just so excited to marry Taggart that nothing else really mattered and it has been wonderful since.
