Father's Day

Father's Day, it's a great holiday! I love to spoil Tag on this day. He is such a wonderful Father. I love how he has a close relationship with each one of his children. He knows how to have fun with the boys and how to make the girls feel special and loved. He teaches the kids to work, to play and to study the gospel of Jesus Christ. I couldn't be more grateful for him. I am also grateful for my own Father. He always lived by example to show me the right way to go. He set a high standard for me when I was looking for a husband. I am thankful for that.

Cub Scout Day Camp!

Briggs, Boston and I went to Cub Scout Day Camp last week! It was four days full of boyish activities. The boys had a blast. The theme was pirates. We shot BB's, bows and arrows, searched for hidden treasure, made multiple crafts and played water games. I am always amazed with the level of service people will give to a good cause. Boys that are in boy scouts really benefit in so many ways.

Nine Holes With the Lefflers

Taggart and I had a blast golfing nine holes with Beka and Doug. We love those guys. We have so very much in common with them and love hanging out with them. Fun times.

Mapleton Canyon

While we were at the reunion Tag and I made dinner one night for everyone. We put together some tinfoil dinners and smores and headed to a park in the canyon. The kids played with bubbles and threw rocks in the river. It was a fun evening and the tin foil dinners were good.

Coming Full Circle

We ended a great day at BYU with a visit to the creamery. Daddy and I used to make visits to the creamery at a regular basis when we went to BYU. Anyone who has been there will understand.

BYU! Need I say more

I guess I will. It was super cool to go to BYU's campus. The family went bowling. Quincey and I got to shop in the BYU bookstore. We bought Father's day gifts for Tag, t shirts, banners for the boys room and a license plate frame for the van. We ate in the Cannon Center and finished things off at the creamery. I love BYU and hope that my kids get to go there someday.

Aunt Sue Price

While we were in Utah my Uncle John's wife, Aunt Sue died. Aunt Sue had been battling a hard disease (something related to MS) for about 4 years. Life was not easy for her, but weeks before her death she was able to go to the temple and renew her endowments and this was a great thing. I felt so blessed to be up in Utah at the time of her death so that our family could go to her funeral and see my cousins and Aunts and Uncles. Another unexpected surprise was that my parents got to come from Missouri to be there. I loved seeing them too. It was a special day.

Quads in the Canyon

We spent any spare time at Grandma and Grandpa's house four wheeling up in the mountains. The views were beautiful and the nature amazing. We saw many wild flowers, deer, birds and large wild turkeys. That was a fun part of the trip.

BARRON"S GONE WILD!!!!!! ...... At Lagoon!

Our summer vacation this year was to the Barron Family Reunion in Utah. It was filled with a week of fun filled days and enjoyable late nights. It started out with a day at Lagoon. I had so much fun. I hadn't been to Lagoon since I was a kid. I was scared to go on two of the rides, but did it anyway to find out that they were actually really fun and not too scary. I was glad that I didn't wimp out. The kids are all amazingly brave. They were willing to try anything that they were tall enough for. Piper was very sad that she was not tall enough for the large roller coasters. This surprised me because when I was young I was totally chicken and my Dad had to pretty much force me or trick me into trying some of the more scary looking rides. I bet my wimpyness drove him crazy. Well, I love all of the rides now and have a blast on the roller coasters. One funny thing is watching Briggs on scary rides. Often I would be sitting next to him, screaming my head off and holding on for dear life and I would look over at Briggs to see if he was enjoying himself and he would look like he was on a Sunday afternoon drive through the meadow. Calm as can be like nothing was different. It was hilarious! Briggs is so cute. Well, that is our recap of Lagoon. I hope we do it again!

Lake Grapevine, here we come!

Boating season is here once again! These are great days. It's funny because Tag and I are so different in how we like to drive the boat. I like to just go for a nice drive and he, well, let's just say this. He gets this intense look on his face, grits his teeth and then GUNS it. All the kids scream and we fly across the lake until I ask him to please slow down a little bit. It's quite crazy. I must say that the kids DO like it though. Lake Grapevine is nice because there is hardly ever any people there. Lake Lewisville is much larger and 15 minutes away so most people go there. We opt for Grapevine with less people. Good times, good times.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the van did it once again. I was worried, believe me, but it was a success! In fact, we had a blast. I think taking trips with Tag and the kids is one of my most favorite things in life. We had no mishaps. I always feel blessed when we are together as a family having an adventure. The kids get along so well and get to have all of these new adventures together. Life is good.

Feeding the Deer

One evening we went to another missionary couples house and got to sit quietly while the deer came in from the woods to feed. They feed the deer and raccoons and opossums every night. I thought the deer there were such a beautiful and delicate variety. It was a thrill.

Papa's swing

Papa built a swing just for the Grand kids that come to visit! It turned out to be the highlight whenever we were at Grammy and Papa's house. I thought it was sweet for him to think of something so fun.

A hard days work (I think they did more then watch Papa?)

While Grammy, me, Quincey, Piper and Sarger went and saw the Amish town and shops, Daddy, Papa, Briggs and Boston were working hard. Taggart really wanted to spend a day helping Papa do some work at Adam ondi Ahman. They worked hard and built a new culvert to help the water flow the right direction. The boys were covered in concrete by the end of the day, but they had fun together and left their hand print at AOA.

Waltus Watkins

Waltus Watkins was a neat man. He looked at the possibilities in life and was a "doer". Seeing his plantation and woolen mill made me think about how I could broaden my horizons. He was truly inspirational.
