Valentine Boxes

Boston's Valentine box.  I think it is pretty great.  I made it last year and he kept it because he liked it so much.  Cool idea for a boy.

Piper's box is heartsy, glittery, lacey, flowery and sparkley.  LOVE it!

Family Valentines Party

We had a special family valentines party.  Do you notice that I gave all of the kids their own box of Cheez-its?  It that Cheezy????  Well, in our house Cheez-its are the BOMB!  They last no more then a half an hour in our house and I thought, maybe if they each had their very own box, maybe they will get sick of them.  Didn't work.  They still were gone instantly.  They also got a little bit of candy and a small gift.  When the kids saw the table they were SO happy about the Cheez-its.  It was funny.

We drew names and had to make a gift for each other.  Some things that people did were: poems, treasure hunt, cards and more. It was super great.

 Smooches from Quincey
Piper made Daddy a special card.
Daddy gave Quincey a funny angel PEZ dispenser.  The angel looked really dumb and we got a good laugh out of it.

Sarger made this picture of Boston.  I love the ears.

Valentines Dinner Party

This year for Valentines Day we had a dinner party with three other couples at our house.  It was great fun.  I made lasagna for dinner.  We had each person bring a gift for their spouse no more then $5 and take a moment to present it to them and say why they love them.  It was a great success.  Daddy bought me a new rose plant to add to the rose garden and planted it for me (with Briggs help).  Then we played the newly wed game and had dessert.  It was such a great evening.  I think we will do it again.

Our good friends Karen and David Gattis on the red carpet.
Our good friends Anita and Marty Robbins on the red carpet.
Our good friends Lauren and Steven Reber on the red carpet.

Daddy and Briggs planting my new rose bush. Can I just tell you that I LOVE it when Daddy wears his overalls.  It gives me a total thrill!  He even wears them out in public!  Hehehe....I like to think that he is John Boy Walton. Hahaha....

This is the front door.  Itsn't it cheesy and fun. =)

 The red carpet.

My newest craze.

You never know what will be next.  Who would have guessed that I would love bow ties?  Well, I do love them and I made these bow ties (and more not pictured) for my boys to wear to church.  Slicking their hair in a comb over and slapping on a bow tie just gives me warm fuzzies. Hahaha...I haven't yet convinced Boston to wear them, but the other two love them and I think it is COOL!
 He is so proud.
Hehehehe....This picture makes me chuckle. I love that boy!
 Love that bow tie Briggs!
Don't let the serious face fool you, he is LOVING this! =)

The Remains

It's funny, but these are the remains of our snowman the very next day.  Snow is short-lived in Texas.  I'd say it's a good thing.

Can it really be?

5 snow days off from school!!!
 The woods.
The pond frozen over- a first.
If it snows 1 inch in Texas, all transportation stops.  We all stay home and play.  It's great.
Boston building a snowman.

The kids warming their feet by the fire.
This is my "snowmom" that I built. =)

Layne Jones

 Barron Crown Recipient: Layne Jones
Layne is our Home Teacher.  We love him and think he is special.

I Got Crafty.

I made this cute little Barron family out of sculpty clay, baked it and painted it.  I love it.
I love to make stuff!

An amazing girl.

Piper is going to get baptized when she turns 8 years old.  She set a goal to finish reading the Book of Mormon before her baptism.  Daddy did not think that it was possible, but I sat down with her and figured out that she needs to read 2 chapters a day until the baptism and she will accomplish her goal.  I think she is on track.  I am so proud of her.  Go for it girl!

A night on the town with QUINCEY.

We treated Quincey to a special, "You are an amazing teenager" night.
We took her out to eat and "Red Hot and Blue".
And then after that we went to see "Les Miserables" with her at Flower Mound High School.  The play was Broadway quality. (I am a little biased.) It was totally amazing and fun.  GREAT night with Quincey. (I like Quincey's electric guitar hair clip!)  Love you Baby.

Life at the bird feeder

We have a bird feeder right outside our kitchen window.  Quincey and I love to watch the birds that come.  One morning during the big winter storm last week we took pictures together and here is what we got.

This one is cool.  Quincey took it of a bird in flight.
Fill up those cheeks.
Pretty sure they are married.
A female Cardinal.  They are so pretty.
Love this male Cardinal in the tree.
 Chickadee.

Say "Seeds!" (Get it?) =D Wow. I am funny.
 Awesome Blue Jay.

Mystery bird, but cute bird.
