My Girls

I went upstairs and found my girls in Piper's room doing hair together. Quincey is a dream big sister. She does Piper's hair, paints her nails and lets Piper come to her parties at our house. Piper is just running around as if she is one of the big girls. It is sweet. I know that Piper will remember it and appreciate it forever. I feel blessed to have these two girls in my life.

Bumper Crop!

This year our peach trees had their first bumper crop since planted two years ago. It was fun to have so many peaches that we could freeze them, make desserts with them and just plan pig out on them. Fruit trees are the best.

Perfect End To A Perfect Day

We took the kids to Cici's to eat pizza You can't go wrong there. That was a fun Memorial Day with the family.

Memorial Day Skating!!!! (dang fun)

After visiting the cemetery, we took the family to the local skating rink. With the new trainers that they have for kids, I knew that it would be super fun for all and Briggs and Sarger could learn to skate all by themselves. It proved right! Briggs skated non stop and loved it. By the time we were about to leave, he was skating by himself around the rink. (slowly) Sarger also learned to skate by himself. It is so fun to see your kids learn new things. It is fun to have your kids grow up and get to do things as a family without a little baby to take care of. I love this time of life. The kids are already asking about going again.

Memorial Day

We started off our Memorial Day by visiting the Flower Mound Cemetery. It is a neat little cemetery with lots of interesting and old graves. One I remember that I would prefer to NOT to have as my epitaph was, "Mother, she did what she could". I am thinking more along the lines of," Mother, she was amazing and will be dearly missed." or something about being the "best Mom in the world" wouldn't be bad either. Anyway, the only person that we know who is buried in that cemetery is Hunter Berry. He was in Briggs class at school and lived on our block. He died at age 10 while on vacation with his family in Mexico. He slipped and drowned in the hot tub. His grave is such a sweet grave. he has a poem that he wrote about all that he was thankful for and all the things he loved. He was sweet to Briggs and that is enough to make us love him. I am glad we were able to visit his grave this Memorial Day.

My Scouts

For Pack Meeting this month we had a talent show. Every boy shared a talent with us and it was an amazing night. I was so proud of each of the boys. It was a great evening. Connor Jones did impressions. He has a super cute personality and is VERY enthusiastic. He even did and impression of SISTER BARRON! It was so cute. He made me feel special. Boston rode his unicycle and I video taped it but did not get any snap shots of him. He did great riding in circles in a small room. He's so cool, as well as all of my scouts. I love them.

"The Lioness at the Gate"

During Women's Conference our General Relief Society President, Julie Beck, talked about mothers and how they are like a lioness at the gate of their home. Keeping out evil from our homes and protecting our families. It was a neat and inspiring talk. When I got home I thought it would be fun to do a painting called "Lioness at the Gate." I was hoping to capture the intensity of a mother's love for her family and for the the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is how it turned out. I gave it to Bethany as a gift because she was there with me and I thought she would like it.

Daddy is Always Good For a Laugh

One thing I love about Daddy is that he does things because he knows that the girls will like it. He never "dissed" Little House one time, most guys would. He is happy to do things with us because he knows that we like it. He also lets us put a bonnet on him so that we could laugh our guts out and have a good time. Thanks Love, you are so much fun to be with. (By the way, the picture of him and Quincey is their rendition of Charles and Laura Ingalls.) =)

Little House on the Prairie

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to downtown Dallas and see the musical, "Little House on the Prairie". I love that show! The actress that played Laura on the show, Melissa Gilbert, played Ma in the play. It was a super fun night with Quincey. We went out to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner and then when we parked for the play, Daddy came around to get our doors and we slipped on our bonnets to surprise him. It was so funny. We sported our bonnets and felt cool. (I know everyone there was jealous.) ;D

Piper's Project

The first grade had to do a diagram of what they want to be when they grow up. Piper wants to be an artist and this is how her diagram turned out. I think it turned out great.

My Scripture Case

I couldn't find a scripture case that I liked at the bookstore, so I attempted to make one by looking at another one. This is how it turned out. I like it.

Mother's Day Treats

Daddy got me a corsage for church. It was so pretty, it had five yellow roses, one for each of our kids. He also got me a bouquet of spring flowers, a new set of scriptures, and a BYU hoodie (He told me to pick out the scriptures and hoodie when I was at BYU). I am excited about my new scriptures! =)

My Favorite Day

I LOVE Mother's Day. My family is so sweet to me. Just one day to be relieved of dishes or cooking is a treat. I love it. We have 8:30 church, so instead of breakfast in bed, I got lunch in bed after church. PERFECT! Thanks so much guys, it meant a lot. I also love the talks at church about Mother's and hearing the children sing. Great day.

Don't worry, this isn't a mug shot.

Piper and Boston both got the honor of being "Kids With Character" for their grade this month. (For us in the day, it was "Student of the month".) I am so proud of these kids and how well they do in school and how they conduct themselves. Good job guys!

"Anniversary Trip" By Paige Barron

I did this painting this week called "Anniversary Trip". I thought it would be fun to try and capture a coral reef and a couple snorkeling. It was a fun project. Hope you like it.

More Sarger

Yesterday we saw a little baby girl that is the little sister of Sarger's friend in preschool. (Get that?) As we walked by, Sarger said something like, "That is Ella's little sister." and I said, "Would you like a little sister?" Then he said, "No, little girls are much too hard to cheer up." (Have NO idea where that came from. =) )

Lovin

When Sarger came home from preschool today, he walked into the door and as I went to hug him he said, "No Mommy, can you just get me some food before we start the lovin?"

Fanny Pack

I have mentioned before that I love my fanny pack when I take trips. It's just so FREEING! Anyway, I bought a new fanny pack so that I might have a little variety. When Sarger saw it he said, "Mommy! Is this your NEW bottom pack?"
