Fort Worth Long Horns!

Every day at 11:30 and 4:00 cowboys take a herd of long horn cattle down the main street in Fort Worth. I think it's a fun tradition and the animals are amazing to see up close. They are huge.

Waiting For The Long Horns

We ran races (I can still compete with Quincey, Briggs and Boston, by the way =) ) and we played duck, duck, goose. Briggs was so cute playing this. He really loved the game. Daddy and the kids played freeze tag. Daddy was IT most of the time and he scared Piper and Sarger out of playing. I don't blame them. Having him running at them is a little scary! Then they finally came.....

The Stockyards

We had some free time waiting for the long horn stampede, so we hung out on the grass and played games and ran around. It was relaxing.

March Showers Brought April Flowers

Here are a few more shots of the gardens......and more.

Botanic Gardens

Next stop, Botanic Gardens! There is nothing that can motivate you to improve your yard like seeing beautiful professional gardens. It was so pretty. It was an overcast day (but no rain) and a little breezy. It was great and very pretty.

Lunch

For lunch we headed over to the park next door. All of the picnic tables were taken so we roughed it a little bit and sat on the ground. It was a good lunch though and I think we all avoided any ant bites.

Hands On Cabin

My favorite thing about Log Cabin Village was the hands on cabin. It was fully furnished with antiques just like it might have been. They allowed kids (and adults) to touch and play with anything. They even had cloths for the kids to put on. It was really fun.

Log Cabin Village

Our next stop was Log Cabin Village. They found six log cabins and moved them together so that they could be enjoyed in one place. They had people in period clothing telling stories about each cabin, who lived there and what it was like for people in the era. It was beautiful and had great picture opportunities.

The Fun Begins!

Nelly and Lilly flew in on Wednesday night. The kids were all going crazy waiting for them to come. Piper helped me pick out some cute little surprises to put on Lilly's pillow. Piper is the best gift giver in our family, (she even asked for wrapping paper and cards for Christmas.) On Thursday I kept Piper home from school to play with Lilly and the rest of the kids were off to school. After dropping Sarger off at preschool the four of us headed to Sam Moon to shop. We bought some fun jewelery for ourselves and our Mom and sisters. We had a great time. I was surprised when Piper and Lily kept themselves entertained the whole time. Nice. After shopping we picked up Sarger and headed home for lunch. The kids played in the backyard the whole afternoon and Nelly and I watched a movie together. Thursday night for dinner we had a backyard cookout with the sister missionaries. We cooked hot dogs and smores and had salad and chips. It was such a nice evening and I think the sister enjoyed themselves.
Friday was our big day to tour Fort Worth! Tag took the day off and we kept all of the kids home from school and left at 8 in the morning and headed towards The Bureau of Engraving and Printing. There are two places in the US that they print our currency, Washington DC and Fort Worth. We took a tour and got to see money being printed. We saw a room full of pallets worth billions and billions of dollars. Boston looked around the plant and then said to me, "It sure costs a lot of money to make money." I was surprised what a complex process it was. Neat.

Nelly and Lilly Came To Texas!!!

Our family was so honored to have Nelly and Lilly Jensen come to our house and visit us! It was a perfect trip. We had tons of fun and enjoyed them to the fullest! Here were some of our adventures.

Eleven Year Old Campout!

Daddy took Briggs camping with the eleven year old scouts. The night before at the dinner table we were all talking about it and Daddy said that he was thinking about taking all of our boys with him and Briggs on the camp out. Boston and Sarger got very excited. Then Daddy said, the only way they could go is if they could do the five mile hike without help. No problem for Boston, but Sarger was questionable being three. The girls and I just looked at each other with stars in our eyes thinking of a girls night with all of the boys gone. What a TREAT! "Oh, I bet Sarger could make it." (I figured at least that Daddy could carry him if he got tired, right?) They all went and Sarger loved every minute of it. He did the entire five miles with out being carried. Trudging through the mud the whole way. I was impressed. The girls and I rented a movie, got pizza, stayed up late and enjoyed a quiet night together. It was great for all!

Special Bond

I was watching Quincey and Colonel out my window and thought it was cute, so I snapped some pictures. It's cute to see how much he likes Quincey and follows her as soon as she comes outside. She does an amazing job caring for him every day. She is a neat girl.

Daddy Daughter Date

Piper got to have a wonderful date with her favorite guy, her Daddy. She got to choose where her date would be and she chose to go to Chuck E. Cheeses! They played games, ate sub sandwiches (she didn't want pizza?) and had fun being with each other. She is a lucky little girl! She felt very special.
