Skittles for Solos!
The kids has always been so WIMPY when it comes to singing at family night. I started a new program six months ago that has changed all that! I offer the kids 3 skittles, yes just 3, to sing a solo in front of the family. They are all over that! Everyone sings a solo at family night every Monday night and they all line up to do it. It has been wonderful for helping the kids learn to be comfortable singing. I don't expect them to be on Broadway, but just enjoying singing would be a nice benefit.
Quincey Learns to Sew
I love teaching the kids new things. They are always so nervous at first, and doubting that they can do it (well, the girls do anyway) but as they start to "get" it, you can see the light go on and their confidence grows. This is what happened the day that Quincey learned to sew on my sewing machine. The kids had the day off of school for MLK holiday. For a fun project, Quincey wanted to make a quilt. She put together all of these materials, and began to sew it together. She soon became a pro and we finished this quilt in one day. It was so much fun. We also made rice bags that you heat in the microwave to warm you up. It has been fun to have those and stay warm in these cold weeks. Good times with Mother and Daughter. =)
Meet PEE WEE!
This is our newest pet. He is a miniature rooster and we named him Pee Wee. I never thought I would say it, but a rooster is now my favorite chicken. He is so cute! The feed mill was giving him away for free and Daddy couldn't turn him down. He has been a great addition to the barn. The hens LOVE him and kiss the ground that he walks on. He is hilarious to watch. He thinks he is "all that" and when he crows, it makes us laugh. He has the squeakiest crow we have ever heard. He is as FAST as can be. He gives my scouts a work out, never to be caught. Pee Wee rocks.

This is my child........=)
Boston amazes me. This kid can do ANYTHING. If he wants to do it, he practices until he can. With the cold weather outside, he learned to ride his unicycle in the house. Everyday he would spend hours going down the hall. Little by little he would go farther and farther. Soon he was riding all over the house. I am so dang proud of him. I think he is so cool and I can't wait to see what he does in a lifetime.
Piper Paints A Masterpeice
Six year old Piper painted this adorable picture of Grammy and Papa Price for their anniversary present. She did all the painting, but I coached her. I just LOVE how it turned out and must admit that it was hard to give away. I hope that they love it. They are a special couple. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!
Smiles All Around
Now, for the inside SCOOP.
Let me give you a little background: Last year Boston did not win a single race at the Pinewood Derby. Daddy did not get the "Daddy who can build fast pinewood derby cars" gene. This was quite upsetting to 8 year old Boston, who tried hard to hide it, but I saw a few tears slip out when no one was watching. He did not expect to loose EVERY race. I could tell, he had a hard time with it, the little competitive guy. Well, after having that experience, he was prepared for it all. No matter what happened this year, it could not ever be WORSE then last year, so he could handle anything that came his way. In his first race, as all the cars came zooming down the track, everyone was looking to see who won and the Barron family was looking to see what happened to the Boston's car. The one that was stuck halfway down the track and the one that had only one wheel crossing the finish line with the cars. If you look closely, you can see the wheel bouncing down the track and Boston looking confused at the whole scene. Well, this WAS worse then last year!! This was more then Bossy could take. We scooped up the car and Daddy ran with him to the cockpit to make some repairs. He was able to put the wheel back on in a different place and participate in some races with SUCCESS! He didn't win, but he did get some second places. That was a victory to the Barron Family. It turned out to be a great night for all.
Car Building!
Pinewood Derby time again!!! This is Boston's last year to be in the Pinewood Derby, so he wanted make his design extra special. He chose a BYU themed car. I was lined up to volunteer my painting skills to help jazz it up. Daddy helped him build the car. It was cute how Sarger was SO excited about it. It seemed to be on his mind all the time. "When is the race??? When will we work on the car???? Do I get to come to the race????" were questions that were heard many times in the days before the race.

I took a few pictures of Quincey and Daddy trying to save the baby goats from dying. I got in really big trouble for doing it. If you look at Quincey's face, it says it all. She turned to me and chewed me out for snapping pictures at this critical time and sad time. The thoughts that were going through my mind were thoughts of how Quincey and Daddy were so sweet and how they were trying so hard to save this baby. I was just admiring them. Forgive me baby.

Sad News
We lost both of the babies. Neither of them were eating from their Momma and it has been the coldest week of the year. We brought them into the house, but it was too late. Quincey and Daddy worked on feeding with a syringe for two hours, but by morning, they were both gone. Abby cried all day for them. It was so sad to see her reaction. We waited for these babies for months now in anticipation, but it all turned out so sad. I'm glad that we have two other goats that will have babies in the next few months. I'm sad we don't have these two though. They were so cute.

Look What Happened Last Night!
Abby finally had her babies! TWINS! They are both beautiful babies. It really was the coldest night of the year. Daddy was smart and put Abigail in her own stall with fresh straw, food, water and a heater. This is exciting news around here. We have been looking forward to these babies for months now. Yay! They are so cute!
Boston Turns 10!
Yesterday we celebrated Boston's 10th birthday! This year we had a family pizza party for him with pie and ice cream instead of cake (his choice). We also gave him the money we saved from not throwing him a friend party. He is excited to spend his money and is having fun feeling "loaded". Daddy woke him up at 5:30 in the morning and took him to IHOP for breakfast and then after school hooked up his favorite video games for a gaming moment with Daddy on the big screen TV in the loft. I think he had a pretty great birthday. Mostly though I hope he knows how much we love and appreciate him in our family. He is smart. nice, a hard worker, he can accomplish goals like no one I've seen, he likes a challenge, a good friend, great in school and pretty much a dream son. I love you Honey. You mean so much to us.
