NOTTAWAY PLANTATION

This is Nottaway Plantation. It is the largest plantation in the south. It was built by a couple who had 11 children and built it before the civil war. It has 65 rooms in the house and there were many slaves that worked the fields and served the family. When the house was built it had 8 acres in the front yard before you hit the Mississippi River. Now there is only one acre before the Mississippi River. Interesting how the river evolves. Our family took a tour of the house and walked the grounds with the huge oak tress and beautiful flowers. It was a super fun time.
